Finally, after braving the hour-long line on a rainy Sunday morning, I can say with conviction that it was worth every minute of my wait. The everything bagel with scallion cream cheese, lox and all the fixings was absolutely divine, leaving me wanting more. The fresh squeezed orange juice complemented my meal perfectly.
Not only is the food delicious but their service is friendly and efficient as well. However, one downside was that they took my order before getting to see the specialty cream cheese display – perhaps next time I will try flavors like espresso or birthday cake. Another issue was that the bagels were not as soft on the inside as expected.
Despite those minor setbacks though, Tompkins Square Bagels offers a great selection of tofu vegan cream cheeses for those who are interested in alternative options while also providing gluten-free options. Their garlic and herb tofu cream cheese has become a personal favorite of mine.
