Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, or so they say. But what if we tell you that there’s an even better option? A meal that combines breakfast and lunch, with a twist of champagne and mimosas – yes, we’re talking about brunch! New York City is known for many things: its iconic yellow cabs, jaw-dropping skyline views, and bustling atmosphere – but above all else, it’s famous for its food scene. Finding a good brunch spot in this city can be like searching for a needle in a haystack; it requires patience and resilience.
Whether you’re looking to indulge in decadent French toast or sip on refreshing cocktails while basking in the sun-kissed warmth of freshly brewed coffee – NYC has got you covered when it comes to delicious brunch spots. From Brooklyn to Manhattan and beyond, each neighborhood has its unique spin on this magical mealtime. You’ll find yourself spoilt for choice among hundreds of restaurants promising mouth-watering dishes that will make your taste buds sing.
Personally speaking (and trust us when we say “the writer”), nothing beats catching up with friends over eggs benedict or bite-sized avocado toast after a long week at work. Sitting outside on cobblestone-lined streetside tables while people-watching (it’s cheaper than flying first-class), enjoying the company of friends amid lively chatter while soaking up some Vitamin C from direct sun rays are moments one should savor forever. In this article (which gets spicier further down) let’s plunge right into exploring the best boozy and non-boozy options available across every corner of downtown *****; we promise – read till the end only if bottomless cocktails excite thee!
🔑 Key Takeaways:

- Several popular weekend markets have expanded their offerings to include brunch favorites like bagels with smoked salmon and fresh-squeezed juices alongside artisanal vendors selling handmade crafts.
- If you’re looking for a fancier atmosphere to accompany your meal (with prices to match), New York City has plenty of upscale restaurants boasting chic decor and attentive staff ready to cater to your every need.

Sadelle’s
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Sadelle’s:
Sadelle’s is the perfect place for breakfast and brunch in Soho. As soon as you walk through the door, a rush of excitement takes over you as you see all the delicious food in front of your eyes. The menu is simple yet full of unique options that will make your taste buds dance with joy. Trust me when I say that this place does not disappoint when it comes to flavor and freshness.
What really stood out to me was their French toast; it literally took my breath away! The texture was heavenly, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, and when mixed with syrup…oh my God! It made for an unbeatable combination. Moreover, their salmon bagel sandwich was amazing too; they use only fresh ingredients which are clearly visible thanks to their open kitchen concept.
The overall experience at Sadelle’s is exceptional from start to finish. All employees are so friendly and attentive towards guests’ needs; besides great service always adds up a plus point in such places where there can be waiting times otherwise.
Sadelle’s might be slightly expensive but believe me nothing beats quality food served with love. Overall I would certainly recommend Sadelle’s any day if someone asks for some good eating joint suggestions around Soho or Manhattan since it has everything one might look for in terms of ambiance, hospitality, taste, + value for money factor (Obviously!)

Mom’s Kitchen and Bar
⭐ A Personal Take on Mom’s Kitchen and Bar:
If you’re in the mood for good food and a fun vibe, Mom’s Kitchen and Bar has got you covered. Let me start off by saying that their bedrock pancakes are an absolute must-try with tons of fresh berries and whipped cream – it’s like a party in your mouth! I also ordered the ginger beer cocktail which was just perfect – not too sweet, not too bland.
Okay, let’s talk mains because this is where Mom’s really shines. My girlfriend started her meal with their “Hot Girl Summer” drink (because who doesn’t love all things flamingo?). I had the Crispy Chicken and Gravy dinner which came with two sides – Mom’s mashed potatoes (yum!) and Mexican Street Corn (double yum!). The chicken was super crispy but unfortunately dry; however, they offer a variety of sauces on each table so that problem was quickly solved.
Lastly, even though we were full to bursting point, we couldn’t resist trying an order of their Bedrock Pancakes for dessert…again! They were just as delicious as before. Although there were some minor issues with our meals such as inconsistent bacon cook times or dry chicken parts, overall experience at Moms Kitchen & Bar was superb. With friendly staff whose service is prompt even during Sunday brunch rush hours, creative cocktails and unique menu specials make one feel especially grateful for creating memories over good food here!

Banter NYC
⭐ Our Honest Opinion of Banter NYC:
Banter NYC has become one of my go-to spots for an amazing brunch in New York City. The cozy decor and calm vibe sets the perfect ambiance for a relaxing morning, while the friendly staff make you feel right at home. The Nutella French toast is absolutely divine – every bite just melts in your mouth! I also tried their bacon & egg roll which was good, although a bit greasy for my liking. But what really stood out to me was their cappuccino – probably one of the best I’ve had in the city.
This quaint little restaurant may be small, but it sure packs a punch with its fresh and delicious dishes that won’t break the bank. Although there can be a bit of wait during peak hours, trust me when I say it’s worth it! One thing I would suggest is increasing the portion size for sides like bacon because two pieces didn’t quite cut it for me.

Whether you’re looking to try something new or just want some comfort food after a long week, this place has got your back. Two Hands
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Two Hands:
Two Hands is hands down one of the best brunch spots in New York City! From the cozy ambiance to the friendly service, this place oozes charm and hospitality. I was blown away by the scrambled egg with okra, which was a highlight of our savory brunch at their Bleecker Street location. Although Eggs Benedict was good, it got a little overshadowed by too salty salmon on the side.
But what really stole my heart here was their banana bread with walnut cream – it’s worth every calorie! Not to mention that their baristas are coffee connoisseurs who know how to whip up some delicious drinks. The only downside we experienced was being seated near the washroom which caused frequent disruptions during conversation, so make sure you reserve your table beforehand!
Despite those minor distractions, Two Hands remains an exceptional spot for having breakfast/brunch in a relaxed atmosphere. My friends and I ordered lemon poppy seed waffles, a breakfast burrito, cold-pressed juices along with other dishes like mushroom bowl and salmon bowl – all were fresh and flavorful.
In fact, everything here exceeded our expectations and left us completely satisfied without feeling bloated or overwhelmed. Buckwheat bread with espresso mascarpone truly stood out as well as my wife’s favorite smoothie! We had such an amazing experience that we made sure to visit again before leaving NYC since coming back to Two Hands is an absolute must-do for anyone looking for quality food!

La Mercerie
⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of La Mercerie:
La Mercerie, what can I say? This place is a breath of fresh air in the midst of bustling Soho. From the moment you walk in, you feel transported to an impeccably designed cafe somewhere in Paris. The attention to detail is beyond impressive – every inch of this restaurant has been thoughtfully curated.
On my recent visit, I couldn’t wait to try some of their seafood dishes. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Although the portions were slightly smaller than expected for the price point, every bite was heavenly. Plus, their dessert game is on point – don’t leave without trying their chocolate cake!
One thing I will note is that while the service was friendly and attentive overall, there’s definitely room for improvement. However, with such great food and ambiance it’s easy to overlook any minor hiccups.
Overall La Mercerie gets a big thumbs up from me! If unique aesthetics and delicious French cuisine are your thing (which they should be), then this place is absolutely worth visiting. Whether it’s brunch or lunch or dinner – make sure you get yourself over there soon!

Buvette Gastrotheque
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Buvette Gastrotheque:
Buvette Gastrotheque is not just your typical French restaurant. It’s an extraordinary dining experience that every foodie in New York City should try. From the moment I arrived at the corner of Bleecker, I knew this place was going to be special. The cozy and comfortable setting made me feel like I was dining in Paris, and the friendly staff made me feel right at home. But what really blew me away was the food.
I started with their scrambled eggs which were cooked to perfection – soft and creamy with a rich flavor that lingered long after each bite. Then came the Croquet Madame – it’s oozing cheese melting into salty ham-covered crispy bread; it honestly took my taste buds on a journey around France all in one mouthful! Next up: Waffle Sandwich, only upon eating it did I realise how much waffles elevate everything they touch! finishing off with Almond croissants AND hot chocolate – Absolutely divine!!!
But what truly makes Buvette stand out from other restaurants is their amazing service, particularly our waiter- Jackson- who went above and beyond to make sure we had a fabulous dining experience.. He introduced us to certain dishes without sounding pushy or overbearing; he crafted jokes for us making our time at Buvette unforgettable!
Overall, if you’re looking for great food served by an incredible team in an intimate setting,Buvette Gastrotheque needs to go straight onto your list of highly recommended places in NYC!

Good Thanks Cafe
⭐ An Unfiltered Assessment of Good Thanks Cafe:
Good Thanks Cafe is a cozy little spot nestled in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. You might miss it if you’re not paying attention, but trust me, this place is worth slowing down for. The atmosphere feels like home with its quaint decor and friendly staff who greet you with a smile. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or brunch, Good Thanks Cafe has got your back.
The menu here packs a flavorful punch without being too overwhelming. I highly recommend trying out their kimchi scrambled eggs – they were to die for! And don’t even get me started on their braised beans and kale salad – it’s heavenly! Although the portions may be slightly small, each bite bursts with deliciousness that leaves you satisfied after every meal. Add to that some aromatic coffee or la labeh (a Middle Eastern yogurt spread), and it’s the perfect way to start your day.
What really sets Good Thanks Cafe apart from other cafes nearby is its genuine hospitality that extends towards every guest who walks through its doors – whether busy locals or lost tourists like myself. What Are The Pros And Cons Of visiting a Brunch Spot in New York City?
Brunch in New York City – is there anything that screams basic more than this? Every Tom, Dick, and Harry wants to indulge in avocado toast drowned with bottomless mimosas at NYC’s “best” brunch spots. While it might seem like a quintessential Big Apple experience, let’s gauge the advantages and disadvantages of embarking on this journey.
Firstly, pro-wise, we get to eat our first meal at whatever time we roll out of bed (or wake up from an all-night whiskey bender), no judgment here! Plus, who can say no to those fluffy pancakes loaded with syrup or gooey eggs benedict that satisfies your hunger cravings for the whole day?
On the downside though – prepare yourself for lines longer than a Chinese dragon dance during Lunar New Year because everyone else has had this same idea too! You’ll be surely standing in line alongside heaps of tourists flashing their selfie sticks around while clenching onto big cups of coffee for dear life. To top it off, you always end up paying $50 for two cups of coffee since most brunch places charge an arm and leg just so you can sit outdoors amongst honking horns with little privacy from pigeons.
In conclusion: if you’re prepared to wait outside any popular brunch spot hoping your name will miraculously appear sooner rather than later then go ahead, my friend! However; if waiting hours isn’t your cup of tea (which most likely would have gone cold by then) may I suggest street vendor hotdogs instead? After all, they are part of NYC’s essence without breaking the bank…or patience levels.
