abcV
⭐ Our Genuine Review of abcV:
abcV stole my heart – the most delectable vegetarian cuisine I’ve had yet in New York City! From their phenomenal food and stellar service to their trendy atmosphere, there’s no place like abcV. What sets abcV apart from other fancy eateries is how well thought out every dish is; you’d never think such flavors could go together but they do, and oh so harmoniously!
The best part of bravadoing this restaurant? The cocktails! They are innovative and not too sweet that make your taste buds awakens with excitement. Our servers were lovely, pleasant, and made our experience all the more memorable. As we enjoyed our meals inside the beautifully decorated venue, my only complaint was two-person tables being placed too close together during COVID raging.
It’s a tad pricey here but worth every penny especially for vegetarians like me who struggle to discover someplace exceptional with unique flavors. This restaurant brings something extraordinary to each plate stocked up with different tastes that leave everyone satisfied even though it’s mostly vegan dishes in which again testifies that this place raises true excellence beyond measure!
With its vibrant atmosphere hovering around uptown chic vibe while also creating an utterly relaxed fashionable ambiance selecting outdoor seating would be wise when weather compliance available on weekdays since weekends can get a bit rowdy inside possibly becoming overcrowded affecting meal quality due to noise level distress- still overall opulence dining at abcV remains exceptionally unmissable in New York City!

- Creative, well thought out dishes
- Excellent cocktails and service
- Trendy atmosphere and ambiance

If you’re looking for some vegetarian Chinese cuisine that’ll knock your socks off, look no further than The Original Buddha Bodai Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant 佛菩提! Located in the heart of Chinatown, this bustling eatery is a great spot to chow down on some delicious vegan fare. I decided to give their dim sum a try, which is only served until 4pm. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The BBQ and Spinach dim sums were absolutely divine. And don’t even get me started on the orange chicken – it was so juicy and flavorful that I couldn’t help but order seconds!
The environment at Buddha Bodai is casual yet welcoming, with friendly service to match. They even provide complimentary tea upon seating! While dinner can be quite pricey here, their lunch specials are a steal and definitely worth checking out. Cadence
⭐ Our Unvarnished Impressions of Cadence:
Cadence is a hidden gem in the East Village that I stumbled upon while searching for vegan-friendly restaurants. After reading about it and watching Tabitha Brown do a review on Instagram, I knew I had to give it a try. My friend and I were blown away by the delicious food and attentive service. As someone who isn’t vegan, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the deep-fried lasagna, smoked grits, fried okra, street corn, and cornbread – each dish was bursting with flavor!
What also sets Cadence apart is its Dinner and Wine series featuring wines from the Brown Estate Winery. The wines were light yet flavorful and paired perfectly with our meal choices. Our waiter’s recommendations hit all the right spots as we shared 4-5 plates between us – though three would have been enough! It’s worth noting that Cadence is black-owned and prideful of its curated menu options.
Sitting in comfortable outdoor seating where heating sheds provide warmth even in cooler weather made for an excellent dining experience all around within city limits. And if you’re fortunate takeout meals can be arranged; order your favorite dishes ahead of time or close to Crave Time! Overall, Cadence is simply superb! With so many tasty dishes waiting to be tried out like black-eyed pea pancakes & potato salads among others truly makes this restaurant one of those places worth visiting more than once – honestly folks you need to check them out when given an opportunity because boy is this place unique unlike many other New York City eateries I’ve visited before.
👍 Our Reasons for Recommending:
- Delicious vegan dishes
- Friendly and knowledgeable service
- Wine selection paired perfectly with the meals

Happy Veggie
⭐ Our Genuine Review of Happy Veggie:
Calling all vegetarians and vegans, rejoice! Happy Veggie is the perfect spot for those who crave Chinese cuisine without compromising their dietary choices. As a vegetarian myself, I am always on the lookout for new places to try, and this one exceeded my expectations. Located in China Town, you might expect it to be difficult to find great vegetarian options but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Upon arriving at Happy Veggie, we were greeted with friendly service which continued throughout our whole dining experience. We decided to go all-out and ordered half of the menu; everything was extremely delicious! However, what stole the show was undoubtedly their crispy mock chicken – a must-try dish if you visit this place.
I have visited Happy Veggie multiple times now because it’s simply fantastic every time! The varied menu never gets dull as there’s always something new to try. The inconsistency mentioned by some reviewers did not affect my overall opinion as I found every dish I tried filled with flavor. In addition, they serve fresh yogurt drinks made in-store that are delightful!
In conclusion, whether you’re a seasoned vegan or just looking for healthier options without sacrificing taste buds satisfaction – give Happy Veggie a visit! Trust me; your palate will thank you later.

And don’t worry about portion sizes because they are out of this world! The plates here could feed an army – seriously.
During my most recent visit to Red Bamboo, I tried their dragonfly dumplings and chicken satay starters, which were fantastic. What Are The Pros And Cons Of visiting a Vegetarian Restaurant in New York?
With an abundance of options to choose from, it’s easy to find restaurants that cater to your dietary requirements. But what are the pros and cons of dining at these establishments?
Let’s start with the advantages. First and foremost, you can rest assured that all of the dishes on offer will be meat-free. No need to scour menus for suitable options or ask servers about ingredients – everything is fair game! Plus, many vegetarian restaurants use fresh produce and organic ingredients which means you’ll be getting a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals.
Another benefit is that vegetarians aren’t always relegated to side dishes or salads as their only meal option. Vegetarian restaurants have elevated plant-based cuisine beyond just substituting meat with tofu; instead offering creative takes on traditional dishes such as burgers made from quinoa patties or spaghetti squash carbonara.
However, like any restaurant experience, there may also be some downsides worth considering. One potential disadvantage is cost: while vegetarian food tends to be less expensive than its meat counterparts when cooking at home, upscale vegetarian eateries can come with hefty price tags.
Additionally, not everyone shares a love for adventurous tastes and textures found in certain veggie alternatives (hello seitan!), so if you’re dining out with non-vegetarian friends they might struggle to find something they enjoy.
Overall though, these minor drawbacks shouldn’t discourage anyone from trying out some of NYC’s best vegetarian establishments – afterall every meal should leave us feeling satisfied both physically AND morally!
PROS
- High-quality drinks made by professional bartenders
- Creative cocktail menus with unique flavors
- Chic and classy atmospheres perfect for a night out
- Good locations near other bars/restaurants/nightlife
CONS
- Expensive drink prices
- Crowded spaces may make it difficult to find seating
- Loud music can make conversation challenging
Conclusion
So there you have it, folks – the best vegetarian restaurants in New York City. And let me tell you, they are not your boring old salad joints. These places are serving up some seriously delicious and creative veggie dishes that will make even the most hardcore carnivores drool (and maybe even reconsider their life choices).
From crispy cauliflower tacos to vegan mac and cheese to beet burgers that will blow your mind, these restaurants are pushing the boundaries of what vegetarian food can be. And don’t even get me started on the desserts – I’m pretty sure I had an out-of-body experience when I tried the vegan chocolate cake at one of these spots.
But enough from me – go out and try them for yourself! You won’t regret it (unless you’re a die-hard meat lover who can’t handle anything green).
